Clarissa's Summer Song

Enfolded by islands,
clouds, seals, sea
are Coll and Tiree.

Deep-moulded horizon,
hills hung with mist,
one shore sun-kissed.

Dreaming lone islands:
wide skies welcome
high hills of Rhum.

Mull and blue Uist
with scattered Treshnish
strung in the midst.

Islands of the west
by greed dispossessed,
Tir-nan-Og ever blessed.

Islandscape of dreams,
adrift on the sea,
Eilean mo chridhe.
