Peace

By Jennifer Robertson - Posted on 06 December 2009

On a happier note the following poem celebrates the Nativity. It won first prize in this year’s Blue Butterfly Christian Poetry Competition and I am including it in my Christmas cards.

                    Peace

                    It is not in the tumult of the storm,
                    but in quietness that Christ is born;
                    not in courts where kings hold sway,
                    but in the common things of every day;
                    not in breaking news or the big headline,
                    but in broken bread and cup of wine.

                    Kindly laughter; an open door;
                    generosity of the poorest poor –
                    birth the Prince of Peace once more.
